Typical Copyright Problems
Whenever a recording is made somebody has the copyright to that recording.
Whenever you use a piece of music in a publicly broadcasted or performed situation it must be cleared with the copyright holders.
You must therefore be sure that you have obtained all the rights you need, including the recording rights.
The recording rights are different from the composer’s copyrights, and may well be owned by a different company or person from the composer or publisher.

Most music users want a unique experience – for themselves or their clients.
You can be granted the exclusive rights to use a particular track for a shorter or longer period of time. This ensures that the track will not appear in any other context than yours within this period. You will have to cash up a little extra to get this exclusivity, since the track will have to be taken out of cmmercial circulation. But for many productions this will be an insignicant amount that is easily justifiable.

Getting a standard single track media license

If you stumble upon one or more tracks that you may want to include or feature in a media production (broadcast, online, public) you can get instant clearance and permission.
In the Player simply click the “License” button to open the Licensing Dialog. Button is only displayed if licensing is available.
Enter relevant data about your production. The site will calculate if the production is applicable for a free license or – in case of commercials and some other production types – what the licensing costs will be. You can select extra options like “Exclusivity” which will add to the licensing fee. The calculated licensing fee will be updated with every selection and displayed at all times.
Once you decide to license a track it will be added to your cart with the options you selected. You must check out to complete the licensing agreement.
Together with a track download link you will get a document that states your exact rights under the licensing agreement. This fully complies with industry-standard licensing agreements.
Renewing a license is equally easy to do online.

Batch license

If you have the need for a lot of music you sign up for a batch licensing agreement with Fluxic.
This is essentially an individually negotiated “all you can eat”-arrangement. Please use the contact form to get in touch about this.
