Emerson, Lake & Palmer

Emerson, Lake & Palmer

The British keyboarder Keith Emerson was previously playing with a band called The Nice, when he left the band to form a new power prog trio with Greg Lake (previously with King Crimson) and Carl Palmer (previously with Atomic Rooster).

The band’s keyboard player – Keith Emerson – pioneered the use of synthesizers in rhythmic band music. Through a close collaboration with Robert Moog, he developed a stage setup consisting of a large Moog Modular system plus Minimoogs, PolyMoog and Moog Taurus pedal synthesizer. This exposed Moog’s instrument the large crowds and helped propel the popularity of synthesizers.
