Befaco BF22 Sallen-Key Filter

The Befaco BK22 “Sallen-Key” filter is branded as a clone of the early Korg MS-20 filters. The build is very decent, with eye-grabbing design, and big white buttons for the Cutoff.

The module contains 2 identical filters, that each can be used in either LPF or HPF mode, and chained. The level can be driven to achieve overdrive effects. The resonance can be set to self-oscillation, and as such can be used as an extra tone generator, or to imposed a pitched element on the sound being filtered.

The sound of module is quite raw, especially as the resonance is pushed upwards. A great range of musically interesting tones are achieved with different input sources.
