Moderately slow, melancholic and epic.

“I’ve had enough. I’m leaving!”, you shout, as you slam the door and walk away. Silently hoping that they will feel great remorse and loss, once they realize that you are gone. Standing determined angry on the empty train station, waiting for the train to take you far away. But once the train rides, a voice of doubt starts rumbling deep inside. That homesick feeling slowly enters your body, and makes you wonder if they really do miss you back home. You gotta be sure. You gotta make a call to find out. And when you come sneaking back in, slightly humiliated, you hope that you at least made a strong point.”
Destination: Unknown
It’s 6.50 in the morning
I’m waiting for the train
I don’t know where it’s going
Won’t be looking back again
And If I change my mind about it
I’ll call you back tonight
But it’s been overdue for ages now
I couldn’t make it work
heaven knows I tried
I don’t know why I’m running
I just keep on and on
So much for sex and money
It’s like a rose so full of thorns
It’s 6.50 in the morning
Still waiting for the train
I don’t know where it’s leading
But I’m coming back again
And If I change my mind about it
I’ll write you from abroad
But as it stand I need to break the chain
Don’t get me wrong
I’m separating pleasure from pain
I don’t know why I’m running
I just keep on and on
So much for sex and money
It’s like a rose so full of thorns
Go go never look back
Heading for a new direction
Far far away from you
Hiding in the dark
Go go I make the move
Running from the last temptation
And the train is leaving now
Destination unknown
I don’t know why I’m running
I just keep on and on
So much for sex and money
It’s like a rose so full of thorns
Production Notes
One of my recent solo songs is a moderately slow and quite epic piece, with a quite traditional sounding instrumentation. Everything was performed by myself, except the acoustic guitar part and the backing vocals. The song was developed from a much earlier instrumental piece, which you can also find on the pages shortly.
