FÆLLEDVEJ – THE 2ND DÉFILM REHEARSAL STUDIO
After the succesful release of the first album, we felt the need to upgrade our rehearsal and studio facilities. So when we found a large loft space in Fælledvej 19, Nørrebro, Copenhagen, we instantly jumped on it. Previously containing a printing shop, the rooms needed major refurbishments before we could move in. It had an exterior elevator so we could get our gear in and out rather conveniently.
The space was divided in 3 main sections: The control room, the live area and the relaxation zone. Everybody contributed with bits of furniture and decoration, so it was rather comfortable.
I had my keyboard setup in the control room, separated from the live area with a double glass window. In this way I could both play with the band, and act as a recording engineer for our recordings.
We had a 16-track SoundTracks desk, with basic facilities, and started out with a Fostex 8-track 1/4″ Tape Recorder with a Revox B-77 for mastering.
